I got this item more for the grip and shutter release than the extra battery. The battery is nice and I like how they now have the one stay in the camera on this model.

Simple and Does the Job…
I purchased this grip to increase the ease of use to a D300, both functional and mechanically. The battery grip did BOTH; increased the ease of use and battery life.

Great addition to my D300
I think this has added a lot of weight balance to my D300 when I have my 70-200mm lens on it. I am getting clearer, more focused vertical shots than I did before.
