Not a book you are looking for, if you are into digital photography
The book is outdated and a bit unorganized, with lot’s of old stuff in it. I would not waste my time on it and therefore it went back on the shelf in a hurry, sorry.

    Average flash information
While the author provided a few flash pointers, most of the information in the book is common sense. No information on digital photography either.

This one’s no good. Where’s the flash book we all need?
I have to add my vote to the reviewers who consider the book pretty awful. The pictures are indeed uniformly terrible, and the content is a disorganized hodge-podge, barely…

this book is too complicated for a beginner and is very messy. the pictures are terrible and have them posted a page after the explanation on the flash technique.

    Very Good Book!
This is a very good books written in plain English. The details about the various light sources (flash, strobes) was very helpful.

A Clear and Straight Forward Presentation
I bought this book, because it was refreshingly free of techno-babble. I found the pictures inspriring and, in some cases, amusing.

    only for beginners
I’ve had this book for several months, and have gone through it several times. I find that my initial reaction was correct: it really is not a very useful book.

Creative, focused on equipment and techniques.
Good book. Lots of equipment information – good for choosing the right flash. It’s a shame that Susan, the author, uses in almost all photographs a Nikon N90 and a SB26 flash,…
